Jon Heindel is a business owner and tech expert based in Southern California. A technology strategist and implementer, he is the CEO/CIO/CTO of Heindel Inc and Dirbos Inc, a remote tech solutions company that helps businesses all over the world solve technology pain-points.
Jon Heindel transitioned into the tech industry after spending years as a musician. In the late 90s, he began to realize the influence that technology had on the music industry and began educating himself in all things tech. While never formally educated in technology, Jon proves that complex experience and a fresh perspective is sometimes exactly what the tech industry needs.
Growing up, Jon’s mother played the piano and, while he tried to learn, realized the instrument wasn’t for him. However, around nine years old, he picked up the guitar and knew it was the right fit. Though the instrument came naturally to him, he pushed himself hard to learn and grow better. He had dreams of being a rockstar one day and was determined to make that happen. Years later, Jon moved out to California to pursue a degree at the Guitar Institute of Technology, part of the Los Angeles-based Musicians Institute. He started a pop-punk band and began writing songs with them. Together, they played clubs up and down the Sunset Strip.
As the years went by, Jon Heindel had an increasingly difficult time earning money in music and, after realizing the music industry was going digital, started educating himself in technology. His move into the tech industry came when it was becoming more accessible to average households. Soon, Jon was running IT departments, managing systems, and developing software for the companies to utilize. His time in music taught him a lot about the world of technology, and his methodical songwriting process can still be seen in the work he does today.
Outside of work, Jon still enjoys playing music whenever he gets the chance but not as often as he would like. Most of the time, he can be found spending time with his three beautiful daughters. Ranging from seven to eighteen years old, he jokes that they represent two ends of the Tik Tok-age spectrum. Much of his time is spent taking them to their competitive cheer events in which they all participate in and cheering them on from the sidelines. For Jon Heindel, the father-daughter relationship he enjoys with his girls is the most important and fulfilling part of his life.
